How to Explore the Lineup
With core beers, seasonals and limited releases all on the board, it can be hard to know where to start. A tasting flight is often the easiest way in. Ordering small pours side by side lets you compare styles directly and notice how malt, hops and yeast each shape a beer's character.
Suggested tasting order
Lighter, more delicate beers are best tasted first, so stronger flavours don't overwhelm them. A sensible path through the lineup looks something like this:
- Wheat Beer or Summer Lager: start with something light and clean to set a baseline.
- Pale Ale: a step up in hop character while staying balanced.
- Autumn Amber: shifts the focus toward caramel and toasted malt.
- IPA: brings more bitterness and aroma, so it comes later.
- Stout or Winter Warmer: finish with the richest, fullest-bodied beers.
Tasting tips
Take a moment to smell each beer before sipping. Much of what we call flavour is really aroma. Let darker beers like the stout warm slightly in the glass, because coffee and chocolate notes open up as the temperature rises. A sip of water between samples helps reset your palate, and it's worth asking staff what's freshest on tap, since hop-forward beers such as the IPA are at their brightest when young.
Pairing with food
Beer and food bring out the best in each other. Crisp lagers and wheat beers suit lighter fare and spicy dishes. Hoppy pale ales and IPAs stand up well to burgers and fried food. Malty ambers complement roasted and smoky flavours, and stouts work surprisingly well with desserts. Check our food truck partners to see who's serving, then plan your pairing.
Because seasonals and limited releases rotate, the board changes throughout the year. Tap-release days and special tastings are announced on our events page, and you can plan your visit with details on the taproom. Please enjoy responsibly, and arrange a safe ride home.
